For George Floyd, Sign Every Bill
Last year across the nation, people rose in outrage at the murder of George Floyd. Today, Derek Chauvin was convicted on all three counts; second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
Finally.
Today, the movement for Black Lives, fueled by the murder of Mr. Floyd and too many others, stands poised to bring the same level of accountability to law enforcement in our communities. For Manuel Ellis. For Charleena Lyles. For Giovonn Joseph-Mcdade. For too many.
The last day of our legislative session is this Sunday. But this isn’t done until Governor Inslee signs every bill, for the protection and liberation of the whole of Black Life.
