Washington state’s tax code is inequitable and racist.

Right now, the ultra-wealthy in this state pay a lower share of taxes than the LOWEST-income members of our community. Which, thanks to historic and persistent, systemic racism, means BIPOC are more likely to pay higher tax rates.

If lawmakers truly care about undoing racial injustice this legislative session, they must enact a capital gains tax.
