ACTION ALERT: Demand Seattle Children's hospital release findings on institutional racism
Last year, Dr. Benjamin Danielson resigned as the medical director of Seattle Children’s Hospital after more than two decades of dedicated service to our community. Dr. Danielson publicly cited persistent institutional racism as his reason for leaving.
The hospital hired former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and the Covington & Burling law firm to investigate the institution’s “race, equity, inclusion and diversity policies and practices.”
That report has been completed, but the hospital's Board of Directors have refused to publish the findings of that investigation. That is not acceptable.
Demand that the Chair of the Board, Susan Betcher, immediately release findings from the Covington investigation, and release members of the community assessment committee from nondisclosure agreements.

Seattle Children’s is a world renowned leader in pediatric care. Seattle Children’s has an opportunity now to contribute to generational, life-saving change.
This information is critical to authentic, community accountability. It is critical to a future where Black and brown children and their families are treated with the same standard and quality of care as their white peers.
Because you can’t have change without accountability, and there is no accountability without transparency.
