ACTION ALERT: Representation Matters. Honor Billy Frank, Jr. in the National Statuary Hall
Mr. Frank, a member of the Nisqually tribe, was a civil rights leader arrested at least 50 times standing up for the rights of Indigenous people in Washington state.
Representation matters and we saw that last summer after the murder of George Floyd. In addition to thousands marching in the streets demanding Black Lives Matter, hundreds of confederate monuments and memorials installed to uphold white supremacy were torn out of the ground, across the country.
Itβs time to install the truth, everywhere history is represented.
Act Now: Tell the Senate Committee on State Government & Elections to support HB 1372, which would place a statue of Billy Frank, Jr. in the National Statuary Hall.

Senators Hunt, Kuderer, Wilson, Hasegawa, and Hawkins,
I stand with the Black Lives Matter Alliance.
Civil rights leader Billy Frank, Jr. spent his life fighting for Indian Country, making sure the U.S. honored its treaties with Tribes. President Barack Obama honored his work posthumously with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Washington should honor him too. I urge you to vote yes on HB1372 and advance it through Committee and on to the Senate floor. #RepresentationMatters. This is who we are.
In solidarity with Black Lives across Washington,
